Orkney ligt 16 kilometer uit de kust van Noord Schotland. De eilandengroep kent veel historie en werden in een ver verleden bewoond door Picten en later gekoloniseerd door de Vikingen. Er zijn twee whisky distilleries: Highland Park (1798) en Scapa (1885).
