In de hoofdplaats Tobermory op het Island of Mull werd in 1798 de Ledaig Distillery opgericht door John Sinclair. De distillery lag in het verleden lange perioden stil en afwisselend worden de namen Tobermory en Ledaig gebruikt.

Tegenwoordig noemen we het Tobermory Distillery en die produceert twee malts: Tobermory (niet gepeat) en Ledaig (licht gepeat). Ledaig wordt uitgesproken als ‘Let-chick’. De distillery ligt prachtig op de kleurrijke kade van Tobermory aan de Ledaig Bay.
