Is it a Gift?

- Yes: You can modify your account details to reflect the new owner.
Sold it on?
Selling a cask share is a private agreement between you and the buyer. You agree on a price, handle the payment, and then the seller informs casQueteers.com to update the records. This is done via the online Transfer Notification form.
Process Overview:
- The price is agreed, and payment is made.
- The buyer provides their casQueteers username (found in casQ Shop » Account) to the seller.
- The seller downloads their CSV order data for reference.
- The seller submits and confirms the Transfer Notification.
Important: We can only issue a replacement order to the new owner if 100% of the cask share is transferred to a single individual. This ensures the new owner can order the cask sample during the first week when the cask sample is exclusively available to participants in the cask.
What if I’ve Only Sold Part of a Cask Share?
If you’ve sold only a part of your cask share, follow these steps:
- Ensure the new ‘co-owner’ has their own casQueteers account.
- Download your order overview as a CSV file (found in casQ Shop » Account » Orders (download)).
- Open the CSV file, search/filter for the right line(s), and add the @username of the new co-owner to the cask share.
- For the full steps, please continue reading on: Product » Shared with (@mentions)
The new co-owner will then see the cask share in their personal overview. Note: Co-owners cannot order a cask sample within the first week of its availability in the casQ shop.
You remain the primary owner and the point of contact when the cask is being bottled.
What if I’ve Sold a Cask Share to Multiple People?
If you’ve sold a cask share to multiple people, the process is similar to selling the full cask share.
To fully transfer ownership:
- Ensure the new owners designate one person as the primary owner, with the others as ‘co-owners’.
- Collect all of the usernames, including those of the ‘co-owners’
Outcome:
- The new main owner will be the contact person when the cask is bottled.
- The main owner can order a cask sample during the first week of availability.
- Co-owners cannot order a cask sample during that first week.
In the Transfer Notification form, include all usernames in the comment field so we can reflect the ‘co-owners’ as soon as possible after completing the Transfer Notification as well.
Important: Timelines for Processing Transfers
Handling cask share transfers involves thorough due diligence for both online and offline administration. We typically process these transfers in batches every 3 to 6 months.
After submitting the Transfer Notification form, you’ll receive a confirmation sent to all three parties (buyer, seller, and processor). However, the transfer will only be considered formal once it is fully processed by casQueteers.com.
